Summertime! :)

IT IS SUMMER, and I'm sure that everyone is loving it in every possible way :)

I have decided, that in the fall, I'm probably transforming this blog into a food themed blog, filled with recipes, new experiments, and interesting facts. I'll still blog about random trivial things, but mainly you can find a yummy blog starting after the summer from here on. I hope that if you have been reading this blog that you will keep on doing so, and I appreciate all the views I've gotten. Promise to post soon, until then, ENJOY THE SUNSHINE :) <3

Vive la France!

My week in Lyon was nothing short of perfect. It was one of the most beautiful cities I had ever been to, the view being fantastic from pretty much anywhere, and there was even a park close to our correspondents school, from which opened a view to the gorgeous city of Lyon. Their school had a cheese course, CHEESE COURSE I REPEAT, and I was soveryveryclose to just staying there. From the cutest creperies with nutella-banana crepes and apple compote, the best shopping centers with the coolest stores and good buys, to the nicest, most wonderful people ever (the best host family too! <3), I would have not traded this experience for anything, and I'll remember it forever. Vive la France. Magnifique, j'adore Lyon! <3

flying through the clouds

I've been so lazy...... so so amazingly lazy. I've barely written here and even school tastes like stale bread. blergh. Pardon me.

Flying. Swans taking off a lake. Traveling. Seeing beautiful landscapes. Eating exotic food. Smiling in a foreign country. Sound familiar? I love it.

It's spring, and you can see little birds flying around; this excites me, since I'm going to FRANCE next monday! <3 I haven't been to Lyon, though I've visited Paris as a child (with the only memory of it being happily chasing pigeons). Looking forward to people watching on a cafe porch with a friend, holding hot chocolate and a mille-feuille in front of me. Let's not forget to shop until we drop.

Traveling is something many love and something that is close to my heart. Just the feeling of an airplane taking off, brings a smile to the face. The best part of flying is when you glance out the window and see mountains, rooftops, the clear ocean and cotton clouds: like a treat, since you never see those on land. Also, depending on the airline, you might get ice cream and really lovely flight attendees.

Stepping on the country for the first time, you just buzz with adrenaline. Then you have your usual list of things to do in a new place:

1. Look around, everywhere, all the time
2. Check if there are any good looking people (don't deny it, we all do it unconciously)
3. Try the local food, tempted by every window of every restarurant
4. Think of souvenirs
5. Hope to get most of the things on your to buy list, including clothing, accessories, chocolate, etc. aka. Wallet homicide
6. Maybe send a postcard to family or friends
7. Take millions and billions of picutres of beautiful monuments, funny pictures with your friends looking like weirdos or taking family pictures by a stranger since your mom requires that to be done
8. Hope you could stay longer, maybe forver
(9). Running like a madman to the closest Starbucks, KFC or such, especially if you live in the Finland :D

Then there's the jet lag that might come after a trip, which results in sleeping like a zombie for a day or two, dreaming about everything you experienced.

Traveling adds to your view of the world, you experience new things and see stuff you haven't seen before. Corny yes, but you become richer with your experiences and thoughts with every trip, but it's something you can't earn with money.

Should go pack my bag now. Having the ability to squish all your things into a suitcase is quite useful. I've managed to stuff a hoodie, coke, half a baguette, wallet, phone, and keys into a tiny black pouch. Quite good, hm? And ballet flats season has arrived <3

Ps. This song is suuuuper catchy! :)
