Ice sculptures and Irish dancing

A gift from the wonderful Irish students that I met over the Ski Holiday, such energetic, fun, and wonderful people! I need to go to Dublin someday :)

I met my pre-IB friends from Tampere and made a new friend from their classmate that they brought along. I had a blast, it was great seeing them again since it had been ages, and we babbled for a pretty damn long time about anything and everything. Such awesome people :) The ice-sculptures are from the Korkeasaari Zoo, which were absolutely phenomenal! So detailed and cool...... I wish I could do that :D I saw them through meeting these Irish exchange students that were visiting Finland, so I hung around with them for the weekend. Irish dancing: my new joy, I love how it's just a jumble of people jumping around in somewhat of a harmony of laughter and energy. The Irish were also SO joyous to see the snow, it was adorable! Apparently they don't have it in Dublin...... well would you mind having some of our snow? There's no shortage of that here in Finland :D

Isn't this the cutest notebook cover design?

More is more, and I have so many other scents I want to get......what can I say, anything that smells good is good in my opinion ;)

Oh and,

MY FRENCH EXCHANGE IS COMING TOMORROW! OHMYGOSH I'M SO EXCITED :D

Our Finn group for the french exchange have so much planned for the french students: we have ice-swimming, laser tag, bowling, shopping, sledding, ice skating, and loads of other things!

Bienvenue en Finlande ;)

BRITS 2012

The BRIT Awards 2012 are today!

I'm super excited, and I hope I'll find a place to watch them live, it's so much better that way. The BRIT is an award given to an outstanding British artist/song/etc. The nominees this year are phenomenal, including Adele, Florence and the Machine, and Jessie J competing for the Best Female, and One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Emeli Sande and others competing for various other categories. I haven't seen it before, but with a lineup like that with live performances, I bet it's going to be massive.

So nothing to do today and interested in music and watching gorgeous/hot people? How about a nice bowl of butter popcorn or something equally good on a soft, comfy sofa for watching the BRITS ;) It'd be lovely to catch some beautiful dresses and the One Direction guys in suits.... who doesn't love guys in suits?

Her voice is phenomenal; so amazing!

Now this is one of my favorite pics ever: good looking Brtish (and one massively adorable Irish) guys in suits? Yes please.

Strong, independent, lovely, and a killer voice: she's got it all :)

"Happiness hit her like a train on a track...." Heavenly, wonderful music :)

"Will you recognize me in those flashing lights?
I try to keep my heart clean, but I can’t get it right
Will you recognize me, when I’m lying on my back
Somethings gone inside me, and I can’t get it back!"

Heaven - Emeli Sande

Do check out these artists, each one is absolutely brilliant! Maybe you'll find something you like :)

I'll start posting more often now! :) Thank you for anyone who reads my blog by the way, I appreciate it hugely! :)

Funtastic

If you have not been to laser tag before, GO NOW. I've gone twice to a place called Megazone, where your goal is to shoot other people and their bases with your teammates in this dark, futuristic zone, and it's so much fun when you're running around with a laser gun, filled with adrenaline! :)

It's hilarious as well, especially when everyone's running around on edge, sometimes shooting their own teammates too even though it does no damage. The rules say no running and no swearing, but I can assure you the first rule was meant to be broken :D

And who says it's not exercise? ;)

So, your zodiac sign?

Horoscopes: predictions and guesses made for a person depending on their birth month and sign, usually not based on any proof, yet equally hilarious and oddly accurate at times; good entertainment

You find your horoscope sign by looking at your birthday and finding the corresponding sign:

also known as zodiac sign :)

Isn't it super cool when your horoscope hits the mark? Or when it says something really interesting about your sign and you like what you see? I certainly do, I mean it's enjoyable reading them, though they aren't legit facts, they're fun and interesting. It also spices up a magazine by drawing in readers; everyone wants to know their lucky day of the month and how their love life is in balance with their work and such.

I bought two magazines this month for myself; and ta da! Both have a special on my horoscope sign, Aquarius, the water-carrier :) I do find most of the qualities of an Aquarius matching to mine: loves change, energetic, spontaneous, intuitive, loves freedom, and all kinds of other stuff. Also my element is air, and my corresponding planet is Uranus or Saturn, it varies. Cool isn't it? Mainly psychobabble, but fun :D

absolutely stunning, someone's interpretation of Aquarius!

Ps. Try getting a cute, quirky pair of socks, because they will make you smile whenever you see them and give you that little boost of energy when you're feeling down :) Look happy, feel happy!

happy birthday to you

I've noticed that age is a funny subject: there are so many ways to approach it. Though everyone's favorite part must be their birthdays, I mean free presents, cake and a day just for you? Who wouldn't enjoy that :)

Adults:
People can get offended if they seem older that what they are, pleased if they seem younger that what they are and surprised if someone guesses their correct age.

Teenagers:
Pleased when appear a bit older that actual age, a bit insulted when seem younger and just nonchalant about looking their age.

I actually love it when people do this, since I tend to be one of the one's who will sing at the top of their lungs, even when it's not necessary :D

Kids are the most adorable people though: I still remember how birthday's were such a big deal as a kid. You had to have your birthday party with your decorate invitations, passing them out to your friends, wearing your favorite outfit, hosting it in McDonalds or some playground, having friends come over and then blowing the candles, ecstatic by the fact that the number of candles increased each year. Opening presents to receive dolls and stickers, and getting offended if you weren't invited to someone's party. Oh the old times. It was a blast being a kid.

and let's not forget the hat

Big birthday's seem to be: 10 (personally) since it's the first DOUBLE digit age you enter, 13 (since many consider it to be the age when you become a teenager, 16 (somehow promoted by media, since it doesn't bring you that many rights around here except better chances at a summer job, other than in America where you Sweet Sixteen gave you the ability to drive, plus the known MTV show), 18 (ADULTHOOD), etc.

Remembering someone on their birthday is very thoughtful and also I love the honest, happy faces people have when you wish them happy birthday or give them a gift. Also, it IS the thought that counts, so people do take things to heart, and the littlest thing can make someone else really happy :)

this is pure genius I tell you
